Default 50 over question

I have a LT1 block that was stroked and bored at 40 over. The block had a small imperfection that was taking out to 50 over. So my question is with the block being 50 over how will it hold up and perform for me? Is it worth it to assemble this block and run it or should i start a new block. I know guys are running 60 over all day long but, Im not looking to rebuild this thing anytime soon once i assemble it.. Thanks in advance for any advice and help.

I sonic tested a LT1 95 Vette block and it had .120" thickness between the cylinders and .240" the other way. It had no core shift either. If you are .050" over even with no core shift, you might be going too thin on the cylinder walls. If I had to go over .040" I would just sleeve the problem cylinder. I run sleeved engines all the time.

From everything I have read .060 is about the max on a LT1 and at that point it should be a NA only car. Whats the plan for the car?

Mostly N/A street and strip car.. I wanted to spray a few times a year during events but mostly N/A.. Running it with callies caps, all forged internals, AFR 210's on pump gas or this was my plan to start with..

have the machine shop do a sonic check to find out how much material is left before going any further.
