EWP and LS1 Lid...clearance issues with fan shroud?
With my new build, I decided to go EWP. I got the Meziere standard (not HD) pump. I installed the fans yesterday and did some trimming to the shroud. I got it to fit, but it is dangerous close the fan itself, specifically the outer ring that the ends of the blades are attached to.
Next on my list is an LS1 lid conversion. I've seen pics of lid installs and I see EWP's on almost all of them and it seems that everyone has to lean their radiator toward the motor a little to make room for the filter. I don't see this being possible for me. What am I missing? Are the fans/shrouds from 93-97 all the same?
I found a link to an older thread with pics of an HD EWP and mine appears to be about the same distance into the fan shroud as this pic.

This is very common. I did this exact thing on mine and had to trim the shroud for it to fit. I also did the ls1 conversion to my car. My car has a 98+ clip on the car so I was able to utilize the lower box. I think cutting the core support to accomplish the conversion does have to tilt the radiator back a little further. I have seen extensive cutting to the fan blades and shroud to make it all fit but your thoughts are correct. You will have to cut the fan to make it all fit.

LSU sports (mainly football) is all we have here, so we go all out when we're winning I lived/worked in Austin in 2009 for 8 months. Very nice place to live and lots of activities, but it's just not home. That summer was HOT. I think it broke a record for consecutive days over 100*.
Anyway, back on track......
anyone else have hands on experience with this?
