Default LT1 turbo cam and turbo

Is the LT1 hot cam 218/228, Lift .492/.492 with 1.5 rockers a good turbo cam... is there any better cams for my set up that will work with 1.5 rockers though

My setup:
lt1 Stock bottom end
76mm turbo
front mount
will be running meth
3.55 gears

For all intents and purposes, what works with a N/A engine will work equally well with a turbo...

All these special blower cams, super wide LSAs, reverse split durations and such are just nonsense.

The hotcam will work but is very mild. I would choose something a little bigger. But then again I think running boost on a stock LT1 bottom end is utterly retarded in the first place.

Spend some money on pistons man. If you can do a turbo build, you can throw a set of forged pistons in it.

You do realize that there is more pressure in the exhaust on a turbo car than there is in the intake manifold, right?

831jd -

I've not heard of the LT1 hot cam - only the LT4 hot cam (0.525 lift) - so a whole extra 33 thousandths of an inch - it works for my setup; but one would think the folks that supplied your turbo might have some actual insight (vs. internet opinion) on what they've seen that works well.

I can tell you that whatever cam you use, header wrap on the exhaust keeps the heat in and helps the turbo spool quicker.

Have fun!

I sure do brah. Assuming you have a back pressure ratio of greater than 1:1 and you usually always do.

Dont start arguing theory with me. What I'm telling you has been PROVEN in real life.

I'm not arguing and I don't do theories. What I do KNOW is that as I decrease overlap (very easy to do on a DOHC engine with adjustable cam gears) turbocharged engines make more power and torque.
