Being able to adjust for gear changes, tire diameters, cooling fan operation, etc., is all nice, but the "power tuning" is pure crap and has been shown in some cases to LOSE power.

Overall IMO they aren't worth it, especially when a mail-order tune will do all of that and more for less money.

With all other factors, can you really attribute any gain to the HPP, especially 0.02? I seriously doubt it.

i did the same thing on back to back passes with similar results. i only use mine for the gear change calibration. they are a waste of money unless you get a good deal on a used one.

I spent $125 for one on eBay. Its worth that just to lower your temperature. If you do buy a used one make sure that it has been restored to the original settings.

Its just a glorifyed piece of S. Dont buy it for the claimed power increase. It's only good for thermostat settings and fan, nothing else. If u want another 15 to 20 horse look into custom mail order...i went with Pcmforless, i have only good things to say about them. Just my .02.

I talked to a guy at the track who got one for $30.00. He had a mail order tune and used it to play with shift points he said. Guess it works for him. I wouldn't buy one new. There's more you can do with tunercats.

Mine came with my car. So i didnt buy it IMO i wouldnt spend alot of money on one i would try to get something better. I think it is only good for change in tire size and temperature. No big noticeable gain ffrom it.

Same here. I got it with the car. I only really use it for tire size, speedo, temp, etc

You gotta provide car/year info to get correct recommendations for tuning programs.

Wow, they still make them? I bought this programmer way back in 1995. I bought it cause it was the only way then to program the speedometer after doing a gear change. I also installed their 160* t stat. It can program the fan to come on sooner as well. You can also change shift points and extend the rev limiter too. Changes in the timing for performance was mild if any. At the time, it was a good buy. Now, it's a waste of money, imo. As mentioned, mail order tune can do 10x what any hand held programmer have to offer.
