Best, quietest sound for my H/C 383 LT1 - Borla or Magnaflow?
So my car has true duals on it right now that are so rediculously loud I can't stand it. They are dumped at the rear seats w/ bullet mufflers. My car is a 383 stroker w/ a wild cam, the cam lope is choppy and very loud and I want to quiet it down as much as possible while still having a really nice sound.
I've got Pacesetter LT headers, 3" ORY pipe, 3" electronic cutout, and will be going with either a Magnaflow 3" catback or a Borla adjustable 3" catback. The Borla has all the adjustment plates to make it quietest-loudest so that's good. And I know everyone loves the Magnaflow..
What do you think will be the best sound and quiet it down quite a lot for my H/C 383?

I have LT headers going through a single 3" SLP TOTL with a Magnaflow muffler and it's anything but quiet IMO. That being said I love the Magnaflow and wouldn't change a damn thing.

Corsa sucks $900 for the same exact catback with "corsa style" tips? and a slightly different sound?
They're all stainless, and they're all great. My main concern right now is volume and what the sound quality is going to be like. Exhaust on a bolt on car is a totally different ball game from a H/C car, with a stock or bolt on car you can actually hear the tone a lot more, with a H/C car it's just so loud you can barely tell the difference between systems. Just from personal experience.
I've got a brand new Magnaflow catback, and I've got a used Borla catback both sitting in my garage. So I'm just trying to pick the right one for my setup. I'll be running CME tips too...

Nope I'm switching to a full 3" catback and taking the dumped TD's off. So you like the Borla XR-1?
I'm just looking for literally the quietest muffler to use in my catback that won't choke off too much power. I really don't mind losing a little flow if it will substantially quiet it down, I'll be running a E-cutout anyway

i've run the magnaflow, borla, and flowmaster on the lt1 and a corsa on the ls1.
by far my favorite sound was the corsa, and they are expensive.
I prefer the Borla on the lt1 with the smallest plate, that got a lot of compliments and no drone in the car which was most important. the only change I'm going to make next is to install a chambered component right at the ypipe so that i can get it just a tad mellower.

Nice merim and gregrob
I guess what I'll do is just install the full catback and try each out. The muffler will swap out super easy since both just clamp in. Hopefully one of the two will be what I'm looking for, if not I can just try another muffler that's compatible with the catback...

I have a Borla with an e-cut out, works great because with it fully closed, the car really quiets down, with the Borla open it's pretty loud
