Do I need the whole casing? The guy in the YouTube video just ziptied the pump to the bracket, what do I do with those lines then?

Pry the top off very carefully, then apply a little bead of superglue to put the top back on when you put it back together. Is this a Walboro you are installing?

you can reuse the yellow bucket but depending on the pump (walbro) the end might be offset enough so that it has a hard time seating.

are you talking about the accordion looking line that comes out of the bucket? chances are it is so brittle by now that you already or are about to tear it while trying to remove. in that case go buy some hose from the auto parts store that can handle fuel injection pressures and clamp the **** out of it. if i am off base here use a picture as a reference.

If it is a Walboro you'll have to cut or sand or grind off a little rib inside the bucket. I just used a small set or shears I had lying around, worked like a charm.

It's a walbro, there is no offset like the stocker, looks like no way to make it fit in the yellow case because the case has an offset. Do I really need it?

Absolutely. It keeps the pump cool no matter the level of fuel in the tank. Leaving it off means the pump will be exposed to air when fuel level goes below the pump and heat up and can kill the pump quickly. I did this and the pump lasted maybe 4 months. When you say it won't fit, have you already taken the ribs out of the canister?
