Default Le or ai cam?

I want a mean idle with lots of low an mid range power! It's a 96 z with an a4 with all the boltons. I know I'll have to do a tq verter when I do the cam swap. I don't want to have to do heads yet, but will down the road. Or Is there an off the shelf cam that will do this? My goal is 330-350 rwhp and a low-mid 12 1/4. Thanks!

Talk to AI and LE directly. They'll advise you with a cam setup that will be optimal for your goals.

Ok thanks!

I'm thinking an ai cam kit with this cam:

Ai 226 / 234 - .566" / .566" - 110 LSA
Easily our most popular daily drivable grind for 350cid applications.dum Typically makes peak power at 6000-6200rpm in stock LT1 long blocks.dum Properly tuned it will run and drive well in M6 cars w/ stock gearing.dum A4 cars should run a 3.42+ rear end gear & 2400 rpm converter minimum.dum Can pass emissions in some states on 110° LSA, though 112-114° LSA makes it more likely to pass.

Either would get the job done.. honestly you could reach your goals with an off the shelf cam too.

What are you running in the 1/4 now with bolt ons?

I agree with everyone else, that sounds like a good cam for your goals. LE could spec one for a little less $ and meet your goals too. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong, but it's definitely worth going custom instead of off the shelf.

Both companies have good cams, I have used both before. It might be best to call both and talk to them and see what they recommend for you.

I have no idea who is grinding LE's cams, but the cost difference may be due to all of AI's custom cams are ground from billet cores and you'll never have to worry about wiping a lobe or distributor gear through a fault of the cam. Their HR cams can even be run with solid lifters.

Comp does LEs cams after Bullet ran out of billet cores.

OP a LT4 Hot cam would make the power you are looking for. I personally love working with LE and have had some pretty good results with him. AI also makes killer stuff so either way IMO you cant go wrong with either.

I must have gotten my cam from Bullet just before they ran out. When did this happen?
