Default Heater problem/ Thermostat?

I have a 97 Z28 Camaro and my heater doesn't blow warm air at all. I have read that a coolant flush might solve the problem
but before I go through all that effort I thought I would get some opinions. The car runs around +-185F so I'm thinking the
P/O put a 160 T-stat in or removed it entirely. I just want a warm heater as its getting into the cold months of the year.
Should I buy a 180 T-Stat or flush the coolant?
Thanks

My '96 has a 160 thermostat and it blows warm air, definitely not very hot though. My former V6 Camaro had a plugged heater core from the DexCool turning to sludge in the system and had to replace the core. If your core is plugged, I doubt a flush will fix it.

Flush the core and take a few minutes to see what thermostat you have, so you will know.

its not the t stat if the motor is running steady at 185............i run 160 stats in all my cars including my truck and that blows warm as hell in the winter...........you have one of a few issues.......
1. the heater core is clogged.....pull off the two lines and flush water through it........
2. there is something wrong with the hot/cold control flap in the heater box.........this is what im betting..........
3. something wrong with the hot/cold changer on the dash

You more than likely have a clogged heater core. I can bring up the threads but I just had the same problem. The flush on shbox website gave me hot air for a day. So I finally got a replacement core and I have hot
Air for the 30 degree weather btw I run a 160 stat tuned and the car never runs past 170 ish.
