Default Clearancing Canton Pan for splayed caps

Got my new canton pan and it doesnt fit with splayed mains. Does anyone have pics of how they clearanced it?
Mike I know you got the same pan and caps. What did ya do?

BTW Im not really impressed with the welding on a $300+ oil pan.
Also is anyone else running a billet oil pump with a canton pan? Any work needed there?
Thanks

Where is it hitting and what main caps are you using?

I am running the thick rubber pan gasket, splayed Eagle billet mains, and the Melling 10554 Select oil pump with the canton pickup (part number 023 IIRC?). It clears everything fine.

Also, did you purchase it new or buy it used? They have two versions, the original one did not fit as well so they released a new design that better fits F-bodies.

I bought it brand new. Its the 15-242t pan. I have Howards billet splayed caps and the nuts hitting the crank scraper thingy. Im just gonna notch it out to clear.
The oil pump Im running is huge and has a built in pick up.

and this is the pan

and using this gasket

Oh ya just remembered Mike aka Quick95 has stock style Howards 4bolt caps and mine are splayed caps so he might not have the same problem.

Check the pan for being straight. Their pans are known for tweaking when welded. I have never seen two the same. Also check the welds by filling the pan before install. I have personally seen three that leaked due to crap welds.

I put a straight edge on the rails and they look good. Also plan on using the stock rail things to put an even load on the pan for install.

As for the welds Im not pleased about how the welds look. Looks like a 2yr old did them. I did put a light under it and dont see any light coming through so that a good sign but I def will fill it and check for leaks b4 its finally installed.
