dart pro 1 lt1 heads
are the dart pro 1 cylinder heads pretty good? would the 215cc ones be too much for a 383 on the street? i know most will say go with ported stockers but I'm exploring my options and these are affordable as i may be able to get a deal on them. another question is how are street manners with a single plane conversion? would it sacrifice drivability or does it even play a big part in that?

Been out of the game so to speak since I finished my build, but reaching way back I would say 215s are gonna be pretty darn big for a setup that is driven on the street, even on a 383. Same with a single plane, and odds are a street setup won't max out a ported lt1 intake anyway.
Most likely it can be made to work though, and it all depends on what you consider drivable.

I have them in the 200cc on a stock bottom end LT1 and I can still say if your going to run them out the box, a set of ported stockers would be a better choice for your money. Your probably better off with a set of Trick Flows from AI or LE when it's all said and done if your set on after market heads. Single Planes benefit is arguable because I think it depends a lot on the set up, think the drive ability aspect is going to fall more on cam choice than any thing.

Drive ability in my terms means I can get in it and go lol. But I was meaning as in not a dog cruising around town. I know cam choice has a lot in that too, but don't want a cam that will pretty much make it a trailer queen. I'm pretty much the only LT1 in town so trying to be competitive. Just getting ideas and info from the guys that have more knowledge about all this

The Dart Pro 1s 180cc that were ported a bit and flow
.100" 70cfm
.200" 140cfm
.300" 187cfm
.400" 227cfm
.500" 257cfm
.600" 278cfm
.700" 280cfm
This is in a 396ci engine and it made 580 FWHP. You'll probably not want larger heads on the street.

The a stock ported intake really is hard to beat... Being they tend to handle ~550 n/a, and with a DP nitrous setup the intake is in no way a restriction to shot size could be used.

Ok well looks like getting it ported and matched up will be the right way to go for me. That solves my intake situation
