About as close as you'd ever want to see your valves to your pistons durring operation lol.......was close enough that all the exhaust valves shaddowd the small bit of carbon on the piston but never hit............needless to say imma add about .007 to my gasket to make it a little bit safer lol........

sure seems silly to use a piston with so much relief area around the valves and then put up a dome that blocks the flame front

it is what it is now.......if i knew when i first did the shortblock it wouldve been different......again at that point it wouldve been a much more expensive piston.....

not floating a valve just had .027 PTV clearance cold.........got a PSI spring on it......every exhaust valve did it......combination of tight lash plus a thinner gasket and a .004 coating on the piston.......nbd ill take care of it for next year with the gasket

If the valves aren't bent, I don't see anything wrong!

What RPM are you doing your burnout at? What gear?

Just advance the cam a degree or 2 and that will go away. That has nothing to do with quench/piston to head clearance.

Wow! And I was worried about this happening with my dinky cam and 0.026 gaskets. That's just hard core close.

That's pretty cool. I see that at work a lot on our 6.5 diesel engines when I tear the heads off of them. (not that it matters) hehe

If the exhaust valve notches were in the right places, they wouldn't have touched--your notch is only about half way down where the valve is

You can notch the pistons with a tool from Isky
