Getting ready to swap Intake manifolds.. Wish me luck..
Im swaping my stock intake manifold for a painted red intake manifold.. This will be my first time swaping 1 and im just wondering is there any problems or tight spots i will run into during the job.. Should i look out for anything? How hard will it be when removing the injectors?

You'll want to use a good high temperature silicone for sealing the front and rear.
Such as orange Permatex RTV Silicone
Years ago when I did mine, I used black, then gray, then went to the orange, and am now satisfied, with no leaks. Pissed me off the first couple times, going off of advise from others.

stay away from orange. a permatex spokesman told me that **** is garbage. its the worst product they make but people keep buying it so they keep making it.
from what he says, its a gen 1 silicone that creates silica when it cures. that will get into the pcv system and destoy the o2 sensors. all the other silicone they sell is gen 2 and doesnt do that. plus it looks like ****.
if u cant get it so seal with black, ur doing it wrong.

Do you know the history of the red manifold? As in do you know if it came off a set of heads that had been milled a whole bunch? I'd be a little concerned about clearances on the mating surfaces, but I'm a paranoid old **** so...
Remove the injector rail. Squirt WD-40 around the injectors in the bungs. Work the rail back and forth as you pull up. It may be stubborn to get out depending on how long it's been on the manifold. Inspect the o-rings to ensure they are not cracked or damaged.
You may need a small pry bar to get manifold off heads. Use it like this:
http://youtu.be/dKWfPQ9AKv0
When putting manifold back on clean all surfaces spotless of any old silicone. After laying a thick bead on both front and back of the block, place the manifold onto the heads straight down. Don't move the manifold once it's down. If you want more guidance then place some cut up pencils in the front/rear bolt holes in the heads.
Orange works fine. Ultra Black is the best IMO as long as it's cured.

i didnt need a pry bar to get my manifold off. A small bump from my rubber mallet and it came right off with ease. However, a pry bar might help to wiggle out the fuel rails.
Make sure you dont forget to remove the egr valve and pipe behind the intake manifold.

Black RTV isn't rated for high temps. I've used high temp to seal up my EGR ports and haven't had any trouble with my O2s...

I used the right stuff and havent had any problems.
Heres the walkthrough I used, worked pretty well...no leaks.
