Default Eagle I-beam or Stock rod use?

I am building a 355 motor. I have stock rods with arp bolts installed that have just been redone. I also have eagle I-beam rods that are forged 5140 steel that are out of my 383 motor that broke the crank. which rod would be better to put in 355 with 11 to 1 compression engine. Running trick flow 62cc aluminum heads. Insight is most appreciated.

Nothing wrong with the stock rods with ARPs installed! If you already have aftermarket rods and all 8 are in perfect shape after your eagle crank broke go for it.......

At 11 to 1 you are at the limit for the stock rods, but the Eagles need to be checked by a machine shop before you use them since they have been through a broken crank.
Ask them to check them for straightness and have the small and big end checked.
A crank breaking can do some weird things to rods.
Are the Eagle rods a 5.7 length or a 6 inch?

The Eagle 5140 rods are probably their SIR rods and are good for about 500 horsepower.....according to Eagle. The stock rods and ARP bolts are too. It's pretty much a lateral move and neither one is much better than the other. Your choice.

they are 5.7 rods, but i could just sell the eagles, if stock rods are just as strong.

well, i just realized my pistons are set-up for 3.48 stroke, and stroke of eagle rods are 3.75, so stock rods it is! eagles are up forsale.

it isn't the stroke of rods--its the center to center length----however your eagles are maybe 6.0 long and stockers are 5.7

The eagle rods are all ready and better than stock , by the time ya install bolts and remachine the big ends and so on your into a brand new set of rods anyway !!! Why use stock when eagle is way better and has the a.r.p bolts in em

The Eagle rods are 5140 steel (not 4340 ) and are rated 500 HP. The stock rods can do the same (500 HP) and they've just been re-worked and new ARP bolts are installed. Also, the stockers are as good as the Eagles and remember that the Eagles came out of an engine with a broken crank. They will need at least checked. That's already been done to the stock rods.

I like Eagle stuff and have used a lot of it with no failures but in this case, with limited funds, the stock rods would be a better choice. IMHO
