Default Opti got wet car won't start.

My dad called me today and said his friends 94 trans am won't start after he drove it through a big puddle. I know this means opti, but does it mean replace it or what?

In some cases yes, in some others....no! Generally, moisture in the casing will wreak havoc (cylinder misfire) with spark-to-cylinder timing where the tendency is to fire multiple cylinders during the cycle. I have seen many times where after a few days, the moisture dries up and re-starts. If may be rough at idle first but, eventually runs fine afterwards. Time will tell bud if replacement is in your immediate future or not...

musta been a hell of a puddle haha

but as stated... it doesnt always mean your sol...

however what uwill didnt notice is your location, i hope your dad buddy has a garage at least? If he has a heated garage that would be best... if not stick a house heater in the garage to try to warm it up a bit... and hopefully in a few days shell start up

if it sits outside (im assuming your temps are pretty similar to ours right now) lets just hope the moisture doesnt freeze up, bc then youll probably need to get a new one...

or he will rather

he said after a few days it started but ran bad. now it doesn't start. It sits outside so im assuming the moisture never got out. Im kind of hoping he decides to sell it i will definitely buy it up for a DD
