and johhny law strikes again...
well i got pulled over and now i gotta get mufflers on. right now i've got lt headers 2.5" straight pipes dumped before the axle. my exhaust shop said that id have to go with spiral/bullet mufflers because of no clearence between the driveshaft and the frame but i know that it can be done, just not sure how! so heres my question: i'm looking for mufflers that would be fairly quiet (barely can be heard inside car) but would still be heard and sound good. and if you are suggesting a traditional muffler, how would i fit it? pictures and videos are great! and i just want to thank yall before hand for all the help that yall have given me! idk where i'd be without yall!

As stated, regardless of what muffler you go with, if you run the exhaust before the axles it will be noticeably louder for "johnny law."
Quietest mufflers I've heard are the Edelbrocks. Heard them on a mess of LS1 cars dumped before the axles and, even though quieter than the average dumped car, it was still pretty loud.
You want to stay out of trouble then you need to run full exhaust or keep your foot out of it.
Is the car lowered?

if you were to run them to the back i assume you would have to go to the passenger side over the axle and put the mufflers back there? and i still want to be heard, just not to a point where its obnoxious

I'm wanting to eventually run duals with fullsized mufflers on my car. Since I don't have backseats I'm thinking of cutting out the "bubbles" the seats sit on and flipping them so the mufflers can sit there. one of my old cars had them crushed up and it looked like **** but a fullssized muffler can fit there easily.

Might want to look into chambered exhaust. Came stock on some 1st generation Camaros and 60's Corvettes. http://www.classicchambered.com/classic/products.html
I'm sure they are available at other places.
