Nice! I have no idea what GT/LA weight is, but
Corbitt Marshburn from your neck of the woods has run 12.8's against a 14.0x index in his L99 Caprice in R/SA, which is something like 4100-4200 lbs!

I know Corbitt. He loves those big cars!

I actually worked with GM to get the L99 into the books. I campaigned one in IHRA Stock GT for one race. It was all stock except for a "Stocker" cam and valve springs. It went 7.8's at 3300 lbs right off the bat. Then the IHRA changed the GT rules.......

I've thought about it. It would be a really fun project, but I have way too many projects going on as it is!

L99s aren't junk. They make great boat anchors and coffee tables!

Thats pretty awesome. Id like to use the crank out of one and Destroke an lt1, put a solid roller in it/carb'd and have it in a light rx7 or 240. I think that would be a fun toy car.

For GT/LA the minimum weight for the L99 with driver would be 3018. My point in posting was to show you that this is a pretty decent platform for even budget builds. Especially when you figure how cheaply you can buy these little motors.

Care to disclose all the detail that went into both engine and chassis for this budget build as well as they final monetary tally? And again, please don't sue me, bro!
