Default Starter shimming?

So awhile back i did the 6 speed swap. and i notice my starter is making a weird noise on starting?I have shimmed a little but the noise still persists. anyone know a way of measuring it better than just throwin shims at it.

just go to autozone or advaned auto or whatever and grab a new one they give lifetime warranties........if u break it just bring it back........i did that 4 times with a starter on mine before i broke down and spent the money on a MSD starter.......them breaking was my fault thou i was trying to crank a 14:1 Solid roller with a stock starter lol......case in point they dont ask they just hand you a new one lol
