No cat better sound
I am in the process of putting on my coated Mac mid lengths and i will be getting the Mac cat back. My cat is already hollow, and there is no emissions in my area of washington St. So do i remove the cat for better sound? Will i gain performance with less turbulance? Or should i leave it in place for some reson i don't know about? Enlighten me Thanks

So i should remove it for a better straight through flow without the cat probably swirl effect maybe? Just guessing here, mainly wondering about sound then performance with the 503 cam if that matters?

Check your state emissions laws. Some states require a "visual" inspection of the cat upon inspection. If you have a friend who is a mechanic it shouldn't matter either way. I would assume having no cat would give you a less turbulent flow. Turbulence is a function of the radius of the pipe among other factors and the cat has a larger radius than an exhaust pipe would.

I had a gutted cat on my jeep Wrangler and it sounded funky. Just drop the cat and install a "test pip" which is 100% legal as long as you are conducting "tests".
I have been running "test pipes" for many years trying to determine if catless exhaust contributes to global warming. As of now, the jury remains out but with that said, I will assume the Polar Bears are doing fine because I saw some lively ones on a recent Coca Cola spot on TV.
