Default Toying with the idea of a cutout right here...But which cutout?

Probably the best place to put a cutout. Was looking at the DMH cutout. Looks like a tight fit though. Thoughts? Recommendations? Thanx

Thanx. Nice stuff. They have their motor cover in aluminum as well.

I have a QTP stainless cut-out I'm going to weld in soon. I am probably going to put it right in front of the axle before it bends upward.

Race Ready Performance makes a good cutout. They seal up tight on the top and bottom edges to keep your car from smelling like fuel on the interior if you're not running cats.

I also did mine right where the rear seat hump is. I used a badlandz hpe one and it works great as long as you don't over open it. They have a remote that won't allow over opening now.

I will never buy another qtp cutout again. I had nothing but problems. Motors kept going out and cost me 50+ bucks each time. Bought a dmh and love it! It's faster opening and closing and the warranty is unbeatable! It seems to be built better overall too. They also have low profile ones of you are worried about room under the car. I also put mine in the rear passenger seat hump.

What I do not understand is why you would put a cut-out of any type before the merge in the y-pipe if you are just going to be using one cut-out (besides just trying to save a little room)? That's why I'm going before the axle, because I don't see the point in putting it behind 1 header collector and not both.. Unless I'm missing something here....

^^^With mid length headers the cutout goes under the hump where the cat used to be. It would be after the merge.

Yeah your going to want to move that cutout back to the towards the rear axle before it goes up and over. You will scrape anything and everything if you place it right after the Y. I run a QTP and been running it for 3 yrs without any issues but many burn up the motors.
