LS1 tranny on a LT1
I have a fresh 4l60e that came off a ls1, my tranny on my LT1 just gave out. Is it possible for me to install the LS1 tranny on it. If it is what all do i have to do to make it work. If its not possible anyone looking for a 4l60e with a MAD DOG level 3 rebuild kit and a 2200 stall. I am looking for anything to make my stock lt1 better.

What year is your car 94-95-96 trannies were each somewhat different and the computer can command things differently to suit? I believe IF your pcm is compatible you are still looking at a custom converter that would not be worth the effort.
Far as the Mad Dog tranny I wouldn't put one in my car if it were free. Do yourself a huge favor and stop looking for mods to do today and start doing LOTS of research

Ok witht he fact that the Mad dog trannies suck aside, Your rear tranny mount will not line up perfectly, some have been able to elongate the hole on the LT1 tranny crossmember. The thing will bolt up fine, if you use your lt1 onverter you'll need spacers, if you use the LS1 converter you'll need to get the mounting pads to the right depth and drill new holes in your flexplate. 95 up computer is happy with it, 94 isnt.
Sell this tranny and buy a real one that is a bolt in
