Default 440-450 RWHP Goal?

I know there are many variables when it comes to power, however which Head/Cam set up would I need to look into to push 440-450 rwhp threw a M6?

Talk to these guys:

http://www.advancedinduction.com/

But IMO if you're talking about that kind power NA through a stock block then you might be talking solid roller setup with a high compression ratio over 12:1 at least.

I have heard amazing reviews about both, Seems like advanced induction are a bit more expensive though.

i think it is doable with stock short block but its going to be taking a beating. tpis in chaska mn can give you some awsome advice too. when they built my 383 lt1 with 11.1 compression we had 560hp on the crank with pump gas.

As mentioned doing that on a stock shortblock is going to be pretty tough. You'll need some above average RPMs which the stock block doesn't like too much.

A 383 or 396 will make achieving that goal much easier (see sig). Once you're above the 450whp+. Of course I have to give the nod to AI once you get into the bigger HP numbers. Expensive yes, but they'll deliver for sure.

LE1s with his 224/230 cam and a 100 shot will get you there cheapest, easiest, and most reliable, and still possibly emissions friendly.

For what it costs to build one properly with all the right parts you can have 95RamAir's car with that goal get in and go!

Check my sig for power numbers. Obviously his reputation is terrible and i got one of the good ones i guess, but i'm just recommending a stroker setup with at least 11.5:1 and you should hit those power numbers even with mediocre heads.

I would have probably made 440+ with a ported intake manifold and e-waterpump.

You can make that power at 6500 rpm through an M6 with the right h/c package. However, I wouldn't advise doing it with a stock untouched shortblock. With a peak at 6500, you'll want to rev it to 7000 to get the performance out of it. If you're not willing to do that, you'd be better off picking a cam to peak lower and using ALL of the available powerband.
I have ported stock heads and a 228 duration cam, peaking with 425 SAE at 6400 rpm through a locked A4, so it's easily done through an M6 with maybe a slightly bigger cam just to make sure. BUT....as I mentioned, I rev it to 7000-7100 for best performance and I certainly wouldn't be doing that successfully without a quality rebuild of the shortblock.
