Default Lt1 swap

i have a lt1 on my stand and I thinking about putting it into my 88 Monte ss. How much stuff would I have to change to make the swap, and would it be expensive todo. Everything on the Monte ss is stock. Thanks in advance for the help

I like the LT1 for cars that came with it. If you are going to the trouble of a high pressure fuel system and everything in an older car I would encourage you to jump right to the LS engines a 5.3l or 6.0l is dirt cheap and you can probably even sell the LT1 for enough to completely pay for a 5.3l.

Now if you had say NICE headers and such for the gen 1 motor those could get reused on an LT1 swap but since you said stock everything you are starting from scratch.

Did you do any of the work on the impala yourself? Or did u have it put in? Because if u did the work yourself u know there are many differences...but with some research u should get there. I would say electrical and cooling would be 2 big things that come to mind.

Really?
Can you post more detail on that?
If you are already comfortable with the LT1 platform then that is something to be considered.

It is a pretty easy swap and not much different than any other EFI swap. Bolt it, wire it up and enjoy.

Lol...should have mentioned that in first post...I was thinking 260 hp beat down high mileage typical stock lt1 that sells for $400 on CL If you got that kinda money in it and it's making good power, why not swap it in?
