This was my last chance to run this class cannot make it again!!!!!!!!!! Mad as hell too!!!!!

Bright side is next year looks much better, not sure what class I will be in but I will do the 21 hour drive!

Its a race to get parts installed for me, everything should be coming in early this week.

that stinkssss i wish you could of came it would be great to get some representation form the west coast. thats funny bowling green is about 21 hours from me too in massachusetts!

My list of need-to-dos on the car

Install rear seat and seatbelts to add weight
Install front sway bar to add weight
install rear speakers to add weight
install airfoil
install valvesprings/valve seals
install rockers
install rocker studs/guideplates/pushrods
install master cylinder and slave
change oil
pick up front skinnies from friend
weigh car with full tank of gas and HOPE im at 3350
clearance wheelwells with a BFH to clear the new 27" MTs
cut 1 coil out of front springs
get an alignment
install headlight covers for aerodynamic improvement
install muffler support

Just need a couple 4 hour afternoons hopefully

going from just enough gas to race to a full tank will add 80lbs just fyi. I wouldn't connect your front swaybar.

I dont think connecting the front sway bar is goign to affect my traction on launch, I have too much already and it bogs. Im going to weigh it with the full tank of gas and rear seats and in and see where I am at. I might just put a spare tire and jack in the car though, if I can find one.

hm i see. Well I do know the front swaybar can effect your launch big time and decrease your 60ft times dramatically because of weight distribution on the launch. But it may be different for a stick car.

i wish i had this problem........want all the spare crap i pulled of mine? lol adding weight is easy........im banging my head against the wall trying to get under 3250 lol

I collapsed my stock jack when I tried lifting my silverado and my spare tire I left on that 92 roller I sold in February so I have no jack and spare. I SHOULD be ok with the rear seat and a full tank of gas. Might put the sway bar on too just to make the ride out there through the mountains of WV more fun. I know your car is a street car, do you still have all your heat/ac crap and crash supports?

You can always go to your local tire store and get some old wheel weights to melt down (usually about $1.00 lb). Make sure your area is well ventilated!

Make bricks and bolt them to the frame rails in the trunk area or add a weight box (I can lend you one if you want). You can also buy bags of lead shot and wrap them in duct tape to put in your weight box.

im bringing down two spare wheels with dragradials on them you can take one and toss it in the trunk for the day if you want............but if i get a flat im taking it back lol

How bout your floor jack in the rear...ahh sorry that didn't sound right. I meant put it in the rear well area, u know what i mean. LOL!

To add weight to your car cheaply.......

1. Get an old school set of adjustable dumbbells. NOT ones with spin or spring collars.
2. Lift up the trunk carpet area of your car.
3. Remove one of the rubber covers from the bottom
4. Put a collar on and screw it on very tight to the dumbbell
5. Insert the bar portion through the hole (from underneath the car) until the collar hits the floor, hold it in place with a jack
6. Insert another collar and slip it down the bar and tighten it very tight

This will lead you with a standing bar sitting in the well area that you can simply add free-weights to. Bring a bunch of 5's and 10's and add them as necessary. This will add weight WAYYYYYY out back helping you to launch.

A set like these will work perfect:



You could drill a hole an install a cotter pin in each end if you wish to be on the safe side.
