Default Machine Shop

Does anyone know of a good machine shop in western Pa. I live in Indiana, Pa.

The guy I usually use Is now out of the question because he "has never seen anything he likes" about the LT1 block.

LOL... what is it he doesn't he like about it? It's no different than any other roller block from '87 and up other than reverse cooling. It's probably for the best you don't use a clown like that. I have a machine shop in Laurel, Maryland I use that I can send you the info if you'd like.

I think it is that he just doesn't know anything about them. He did a lot of talking, but then told me that mine was the first good one he has ever seen. I would think someone who has obviously never built one should just keep their opinions to themselves.
I will keep you in mind, but I am trying to get something closer. I have another one in mind but he is so hard to get ahold of during race season.

What about Racekrafters in PA (I think Lancaster?)? I've spoken on the phone with them, they seem to be good guys and know the LT1.

He's a moron. Stay far away. The shop I use has built LTx and LSx engines for the last 10 or more years and are in high demand all along the eastern seaboard. They know all the in's and out's of each platform. They built my current engine that sees over 7000rpm all the time.

Well the ironic thing about that statement is that for all the work that the machine shop will do on your block, the LT1 is just a SBC. And if he can't work on a SBC, then he needs to close up shop.
