The Calloway Honker is now the Moroso CAI and one of the best out there IMHO

I had one from Motor Sport Technologies that was pretty good, the LPE had by far the better fitment.

On those you also see the filter laying in the panel and not on the CAI

The LPE? If so, more than likely the owner did not know how to tighten the filter to the CAI. I've had a LPE for over 12 years and never had that problem.

I've used them all, buy a Lingenfelter Cold air. Best fit, best element, good company. Moroso ranks second in my book, used to be the Callaway.

Free shipping, enjoy.

I have got a brand new SLP CAI for sale right now. Over $100 cheaper than retail.
I know it's not one of the 2 you mentioned, but you did say you wanted something different and I don't see alot of these...plus the 2 tubes down to 2 filters has a unique look. Also, there is no crushing to get around the ABS block.

There should never be. Filters should always go in through the bottom.

I was talking about how the tubes for most CAI's have to be deformed (molded that way) so they go around, over, and between the radiator and the ABS. I do realize that even though they get thin in that spot...Moroso, K&N, etc...spread out and still have good volume. I just wonder what effect that has on flow compared to a mandrel bent pipe(s) that stay the same size & shape from the filter.

From what I've read most CAI's make about the same power either way...so I guess it doesn't matter much.

Here is the SLP (which is also the same as GM's CAI for LT1). Again, not trying so say it's better than any of the others mentioned. Just that I have one available...and it isn't something you see on 90% of cars.

I use a LPE Supertube, it's a really nice piece. The filter is very large at 9 inches long 6 inch dia tapering to 5 inch dia. Go to Lingenfelter's web site to check it out.

Pretty much. It really comes down to which one you think looks best in the engine bay. I do remember the SLP being kind of a PITA to move around, remove or install if work needed to be done which required moving the CAI out of the way.

I don't see why it would be any different that others to remove, but then again....it's new and I never installed or removed it...so what do I know? LOL

As far as the SLP one goes, I think it's just because of the way the two tubes are. I can't remember.
