Default Gateway Motorsports Park PDX 9-19-12

Here's a short video of me and my car last night on Gateway's road course. 97Camaro M6 with quite a few mods. It disapoints me all you can here is wind, the car sounds so good shooting out of NASCAR turn 4 done the back straight into turn 1. Video starts at the start/finish line.

That looks like fun. Did you get your clutch issues worked out?

Yes I did thanks for asking. It was tremendous fun, I really pushed hard the video doesn't really do it justice. The course is a 3 and 4 gear course only 1.6 miles and I was only in 4 going into NASCAR turn 3&4 and of course down the straight. I was able to get 4 20 min sessions with a really good instructor. I discovered my brakes are less than stellar slowing down from 120+ to 50 for the first turn really took it's tole and I boiled the power steering fluid. But the car ran perfect. There are lots of guys on this forum that has helped me be where I am with this car whether they know it or not, thanks is about all I can say.

Thats an awesome video man! despite the wind noise lol What brakes are on the car? If there stock LT1 brakes id certainly look into an upgrade. LS1 brakes at bare minimum! Im running C5 brakes and absolute love them. Just keep in mind youll need 17" rims minimum for that setup.

I'm on the stock size brakes with hawk hps pads and better fluid. I autocrossed all year and never thought the brakes were inadequate but on a much bigger track with repeated hard stopping they just were not up to the task. I am planning on a ls brake upgrade this winter with some cooling ducted to them. I run on 17s now so it's no problem there.
