Default 2002 Duramax LB7 turbo on LT1 ?

I'm about to purchase a Z28, and in anticipation I have been researching and figuring out all my plans for the car. I knew a turbo is definitely in this car's future, but as a student money is tight, and after research regretfully decided to stay away from a turbo.

BUT my buddy has just put a bigger turbo on his Duramax, and I have the opportunity to purchase his stock turbo at the amazing price of $Free.99 !

Does anyone know if it is possible to slap a 2002 LB7 turbo on a LT1? Any information would be great!

It's not going to be a slap it on. If money is tight I wouldn't think of any sort of forced induction. Going to be a lot of fab work.

Enjoy the exhaust flange on the turbo. And or, the internal wastegate.

I see now I worded that wrong.. I understand its not going to fit like a LT1 designed turbo, but do you think it would be cheaper then straight up buying one? Eventually I will turbo it, but I thought with the lb7 turbo I could reach this goal faster.

I don't mind at all putting the time into it, I'm doing this project to learn. I'm a new when it comes to these thing and I'm just checking out all my options!

Get the turbo, price is right. U can make ANYTHING fit, if u put the time into the fab work. Put it on a shelf for now and do research. Then maybe a rear mount, buy a mig welder! Haha. I say go for it! I would!

Simple answer: no. Buy a Chinese turbo off eBay for $300 like the gt45
