Default Car suddenly does not want to crank?? Ive tried everything.

Two nights ago it fired right up. Now it just does nothing. Lamp test, and nothing. A faint click under the dash. I have had the battery tested its good. I checked the connections good. I checked the clutch interlocking switch, good, still no start. Could it really be the start just randomly going out?

I'm gonna give you a helping hand and tell you to stop making new threads, make ONE thread and put all information in that one. Its basically impossible to help you when you have 6 different threads all pertaining to the same problem.

That said, try giggling the key and or move the column up and down, might be your ignition switch thats failing.

Again, youll get more help keeping all the info in one place so we dont have to guess what youve done between the other threads. Just keep this one, and post on here with any more problems.

Wouldn't it at least try to crank with bad fuel pressure and spark? It's literally silent when I turn the key. One thing I did see was the pig tail that feeds the power to the starter is broken into more of a "C" shape instead of a full circle. It's still making contact though.

Also the security lamp turns off after 4-5 seconds as normal. I'm stumped. Idk what else to try.

Pull the crank fuse out and wiggle it around and put it back in. Mine did the same thing a couple months ago it was the fuse block

Tried it, nothing. I noticed something though. The starter clicks about 3 seconds after attempting to crank if I hold it.

It could be the ignition switch located on the steering shaft. Shoebox has instructions on how to replace it.

I'm gonna try replacing my starter before I take my steering column out.

Test it before you replace it. Jump the power and ignition wires to see if it will engage.

There's a old trick with starters, if the armature stops in a bad spot the solenoid will pull in (clicking) but the starter won't spin. While you try to crank the engine have somebody give the starter a couple good raps with a metal object, if the starter starts working then your starter is bad.

I tried the tapping and it didn't work. I replaced the starter and still nothing lol. Good gracious. I guess the only thing I'm left with is the connection somewhere is faulty or the ignition

Yes sir. It's fully juiced up. I swapped the starter out with a brand new one. It will lamp test everything will go off normally including the security light. And nothing. It will make a faint click under the dash and then if I hold it (as if I was cranking it up) there will be another faint click near the starter area after a couple seconds.

Did you try jumping the two posts at the starter to see if it will crank? Take it out of gear and put the brake on, if it is a manual.

I've never done that. How exactly would I go about that. Just attach the positive side where the positive connection goes and the negative just grounded anywhere?

If you don't know what shoebox is talking about it's best if you don't try it for your own safety.

Since you've been having so much trouble, and just to make sure, try to turn the engine with a ratchet on the crank hub bolt, just to make sure the engine isn't hydro-locked or something. That would give a symptom of no crank with the starter engaged.
