Default Heads and Cam for 400+Hp 350 LT1, Please advice

So I have been asking some companies about new heads and cam for my 350 LT1 and get different advice all the time. Have also been searching forums for information and I am getting there. I just wanted to hear you guys opinions and ideas before I order anything. Looking for 400Hp+ and the engine is a 1997 LT1 350 with M6.

It has 1.7 Scorpion rollers and matching valvetrain components. All external bolt ons (52mm TB, hedders and 3" single exhaust, no cat, no egr, KN conical filter and MSD ignition.
ARP-134-7103 Studs
CCA-26918-16 Valve springs
CCA-787-16 Retainer set
SCC-SCP1026BL Scorpion rocker set 1:7
TFS-21407200 7/200 Chromemoly pushrods
TFS-30400623-8 23 Degree guide plates

I am looking at AFR heads and comp cams 07-467-8. Duration @ .050 230/236 . Also new lifters. Will weld and port the LT1 intake.
I would like to reuse my valvetrain components as much as possible. But have a hard time selecting the right AFR heads for my engine.

I would appreciate your thoughts and ideas on this engine.

/Hakan

Have your stock heads ported by AI (www.advancedinduction.com). Let them match you a camshaft to suit and spec all of the PROPER valve springs and hardware. Some of your hardware you can reuse like the guide plates and rockers but some things will likely need to be changed.

There's absolutely no need to weld and port the stock intake. A stock as-cast intake will not be a hindrance at that power level.

The AFRs and the cam you selected aren't ideal for what you want especially when there are much better options out there.

400+ RWHP or 400+ crank? a heavy bolt on car with a cam only will come very close to the 400 crank side.

Like mentioned above..contact AI or LE and see what they can do for you. Even well ported stockers and a cam from one of the above guys should get you close to where you wanna be.

^THIS^
With that package and their smallish 228 dur HR cam, I'm putting down 420 rwhp through an A4 with an 8" 4400 stall non-lockup converter. In an M6 car, that would probably be 440-450 rwhp.
The AI setup is your most sure-fire route to success. Just follow the recipe with competent assembly and you're there.

Thanks for your replies. Funny thing is that I started this by thinking of porting my LT1 heads and adding bigger valves. After some searching it seemed the wrong way to go but now you tell me that there is some serious power to be made from ported LT1 heads. I have done some porting before but not on V8´s. I have not decided but will look in to ported LT1 heads some more, I have some time to spend this winter so I might just port them myself (after serious research). Will also contact the firms mentioned in the thread.

Aiming for 400hp (at least) at the crank.

Do yourself a favor and don't even bother trying to port them yourself. Since you're admittedly new to it you run the risk of ruining the heads or ending up with a head that performs hardly better than stock.

I am running ported stock castings on a plane Jane 383 listed in my sig and run those times. They may be expensive but depending on your intended use they could be the last head you'll ever buy.

Talk to www.advancedinduction.com. There's a reason several guys in this thread suggested them first.

I'd either go with Advanced Induction or Lloyd Elliott.

With that goal, don't even touch the heads. with the right cam and valvetrain, you can exceed that by 50 hp without ever pulling the heads. Just bypass all the himhawing around, call Advanced Induction, do exactly what they recommend, and you're there.
