Did you add your preload to that measurement yet? I count the half turn. You sure you are doin it correctly? Are you sure the valve you are measuring is closed? I had 9.5 turns with .030 milled 243s and .040 head gasket

Nevermind. I just realized this was an LT not LS engine question. Regardless I counted and was told to count the half turn. And don't forget to add preload.

I like the one on the left since it has a narrower sweep.

I agree the sweep is more narrow. I also read its better to have the marking biased more towards the exhaust side. So the stock length (left picture) looks ok? Never done it so I dont have anything to compare it to.

Im ordering pushrods tonight. The stock 7.2 pushrods left a good sweep/location on the valve tip. I used valve test springs so my lifters are not compressed. When the lifter compresses will a 7.2 rod be to short? Do I need to add the length that the lifter will compress to the 7.2 length?

FYI, if you have an old set of lifters laying around, tear apart 8 of them and use the little shims in there to make a locked out lifter. I think we used 7 shims and id took a vise to get the snapring in and it had about .002 of movement.

In my case, I have a base circle on the cam of .090" under and it's still showing for a 7.2" rod. But it's a new set of rockers w/ 7/16" studs. So that might have something to the reason why.

I will also backup Dwaynes input on having adjustable guideplates for those running NSA rockers. My high dollar guide plates are now worthless because it pushes the rocker way over on the valve tip. So, looks like Isky or Comps are getting ordered this week.

Damn, I just loctited them all in too.

The one on the left looks like you hit the bulls eye. Have your heads been milled and what's your head gasket?
