I swapped a 1996 lt1 engine 4l60e and harness into a 1995 lt1 camaro... everything works fine and turns on but does not shift out of first gear and the MPH doesnt move. cant figure out whats wrong anyone have the same problem? thanks...

The 96 wiring harness is from a odb2 and ur tranny a odb1. Im 90% sure that it wont work for that reason...

The trany is a 1996 obd2 also

I put the 96 ecm and the 95 camaro has a obd2 DLC

Theres subtle differences in the Electronics of the valve bodies A 95 is kinda the Bastard Child Yeah its got an OBDII DLC but its still OBD1 Ive got a 95 T/A & its like OBD 1.5 lol Ive got two 4L60Es for sale since Im goin 4L80E

Make sure the speed sensor on the trans is plugged in and is working. I had that issue on an impala I did

Why dont you swap all the stuff back to 95 except the trans??? The 96 PCM is a lil different too 1st that comes to mind is the CPS

VSS problem.......check the wiring for the vehicle speed sensor at the tailshaft of the trans....that will cause it not to shift and the speedo not to work
