Are you guys talking about this bumper support?

How much weight do you lose using this?

I held one of MWC front and rear bumper supports in my hand when I picked up my rear axle and they are light. I think Eric said they are less than 5#s each

Well no pics this week yet, I helped my younger brother move over the weekend
and managed to pick up a cold that has been kicking my *** the past couple days.

Plan for the week was to get the interior completely out and then get the front
fenders off. Then I can start cutting **** out and making some progress.

I got a price quote from MWC on bumper supports and Dzus rails so hopefully
shortly after Christmas I can get those on the way. Then go and pick up the
hood and have the expensive stuff out of the way and buy more tools

I ordered a HVAC block off from MWC today and in 2 weeks I should be able to order the
hood/Dzus rails and bumper supports if all goes well. Work is really picking up and I'm going
to be working some 60+ hour weeks. I guess its part of the game LOL. I guess I will be
pulling the trans too and having TDP go through it this winter to freshen it up since the
funds will be available.

Ordered a pin-on Glasstek SS hood Friday morning, that should change the attitude of my car a bit and
save some weight on top of it. Now I'm going out to the garage to cut out some wiring

I can give you a heads up. Do not go to wild behind the front towers. My car was literally twisting the nose off the car so I went in and added a bunch of support and re-welded a few things.

Her are some pics of what I did. Mind you my car makes a little more power then a bolt on car and I like to be safe not dead

this is added welds to keep spot welds from popping

Front down bars added. I cut the side metal and front inner metal out and by the time the bars were in I lost 1 Lbs

Here I completely boxed in the Sub frame sections.
(BTW New welder helped a lot LOL!)

Just remember safety should be just as important as being light!

I wanna see some pics of that Glasstek pin-on hood once you get it. Is it the LT1 style or the narrow LS1 SS style?

I wish VFN made their 3" SS hood with the wider LT1 style.

@Bizerk1-relocating the battery to the truck adds about 30#s from the cables, sealed box, and the other odds and ends needed. I'm getting a Braille 15# battery and mounting it in the stock location

I'm not going to get crazy with the cutting since this is a "street" car. I haven't even taken the grinder to it yet, but that day isn't too far away. I have been working 60 hour weeks and I'm too tired when I get home to get any work done (neighbors probably appreciate that though)

On a good note though my Glasstek SS hood came yesterday and I received my Racecraft rails and fasteners earlier in the week. I'm waiting on MWC to send the HVAC block off and I will be ordering their bumper supports next week. I still nee to pull the trans and ship it to TDP and order a clutch & hydraulics, but that can wait until I get the rest of the car back together.

Now I need to get out to the garage and finish hacking out wires

No problem man, I was happy to see that the hood was in good shape after seeing the box it came in The wood frame was busted and the box was completely ripped open and the driver said "he caught it on something"

I'll get some better pics of it in the shop, maybe sitting on the car.

Keep up the good work.

How's that mufflex sound using a Borla muffler instead? Better than a Magnaflow muffler that they send ya?

Thanks man, its been a process just finding the time LOL

The Borla sounds a bit louder than the magnaflow, but I get HORRIBLE drone with the mufflex @ 2200-2600 rpms. It really sounds like a old farm truck with a rotting off exhaust at those rpms. I have a flowmaster merge so that shouldn't be where I'm getting the sound, but I like the sound at every other rpm. I may add an insert in the tail pipe to cut a few more DB and maybe change the sound a little, but that adds weight

Today I made the order for the MWC bumper supports (front & rear). I also ordered a 2.1#
Quicktime flexplate for the 5.5" Ace clutch that I will be ordering next Friday. My total weight
for my clutch will be 11.8#s. I still need to order a slave assembly, but I'm waiting for an
answer from Quarter Master before I place the order.

Tomorrow I may go out and clean up some wiring if I get up early enough. But I'll get
some pics posted up when the parts roll in

Thanks man. I have to admit I got a lot of my ideas from your thread. I need to bust out the spot weld cutters and get to work cutting junk out pretty soon.
