stock lt1 dry shot ?'s
been looking through the forum all night and cant find an answer. i have a m6 4.10 and nt555r with a 75 dry shot right now on tr7 (br7ef). i want to up the shot to a 100 but ive been researching and have been seeing people putting 125-150 shot on the stock motor. can a stock 2 bolt take that big of a shot w/o tune on tr7 spark plugs?

Far as how much nitrous get yourself an ignition box like the Mallory that can handle window switch and nitrous retard functions. That is a better way to handle it than a tune.
Guys have been spraying 150 on stock longblock LT1s for a long time and some guys push it farther safely others screwup it up before that.
Hell there are guys who have done 150+ on top of heads and cam. You concern about the 2-bolt mains is completely missplaced.

you can but you would have to learn to use it and reflash the PCM between the nitrous and NA tunes if you don't always run nitrous. the few degrees taken out might be negligible to some people and others a deal breaker.
as far as the fueling goes do you have anything to at least bump the fuel pressure when activated?

Ignition box is the way to go, no harm to NA performance that way, plus you can get window switch, spark based rev limiter and automatic activation all in one piece.
Far as fuel pressure, are you asking about getting an adjustable regulator and screwing with it every time you use nitrous, like manually setting the pressure higher for the bottle and lower when NA? If so NO.
I think there are dry kits out there that apply a little bottle pressure to the fuel regulator to elevate fuel pressure that would be different, but I would avoid anything that has you making constant manual adjustments to anything.

Just get a wet shot, it's safer and easier IMO. Also get a dig 6 box, makes things SO much easier. I have a m6 and i have a 150 wet shot and finally went with a window activation switch that comes on 3000 rpm and kicks off at like 5100. Can't go wrong with it.

Now in a drag car you want it as simple and reliable as possible.

With a manual trans, you absolutely MUST run a window switch, in addition to the WOT switch. Loose converter'd auto's can get away without the window switch on a small shot.
Think what happens if you bog a manual off the line -- a 100 hp load of nitrous filling one or two cylinders of an engine barely turning, massive cylinder pressure, bye bye motor.
A properly set up and tuned 150 wet shot on a stock LT1 will live practically forever.

yep....bought my car in 01 with a H/C package on a stock shortblock...ran 3 bottles a week through it while jetted for 150...went to a 2 bolt 396 in 03 and jumped the jets to 200 till 2008...pulled the motor out this fall for a freshen, as I plan on adding just a bit more nitrous . Dont worry about the 2 bolt mains...shifted the stock motor at 6500 the 396 at 6800.
