Default Need some head an cam Help

Ok so this winter I'm wanting to do a head an cam swap on my 93 formula 6 speed. I already got a cam in it (218/224 .570/.565. 113lsa) but want to go a little bigger and I don't know if I should go with AI or LE? I want it to be a street/strip car. Any opinoins and help is welcome.

Take your pick! Both AI and LE are proven on this forum with excellent results.

If you know what you're doing, or have good local guidance, you'll go fast with either one. I went with AI 3 years ago because at that time I saw more consistency in their machining and valve setups. I've been more than satisfied and never looked back.

They are both great but I have always respected AI for not cutting corners even if a customer wanted it. But for what its worth, my heads were LE with a 224/230 XE cam and my buddy had AI heads with matched AI cam... my car was faster and made more power.

This is the biggest back and forth in this forum. Both make proven power. I've noticed that the guys running ai do seem to do a little better but again most of those guys are a lot better and more built than most of us shade tree heads and cam guys. All that being said I decided that for my street/ once a year track dd it was beneficial to save a couple hundred bones and go le. I'm extremely happy with my choice and Lloyd is awesome to work with.

I'd say that statement's not worth much at all What power were you guys making? how fast were you going? 10 to 1 odds say neither was optimizing either setup.
Your first statement is very true. You can make great power with either one. AI may not win the popularity contest; they're straight up with you to leave less up to chance and individual preferences/hangups.

I couldn't agree more. You couldn't deal with a nicer guy than Lloyd. I worked with him on a couple of packages for friends of mine (years ago, before the Brett Boober debacle) that needed some help providing all the right info and asking the right questions. Both worked out just fine.

Depends on what you want. I'd like to throw Gallant Technical Performance (GTP) in the loop as well. If you want a rock solid, emissions friendly combo for a daily driver that must pass emissions then go LPE, but for more agressive setups, either AI or GTP.

Normally I would be jelly, but all I do for emissions in the county I live in is sign a piece of paper and mail it in. Beautiful.

No worries about emissions then go wild.
