Oil leak! Need help ASAP!!!
Ok I have this oil leak in my 93 formula, It's coming from the back of the engine an it's on the drivers side. I only know this because I cleaned up the back of the block and rear of the engine bay and when I got back home from driving it I found a puddle of oil underneath the car so I popped the hood an the back of the engine bay on the drivers side was covered with oil along with that side of the block an my drivers side valve cover has oil on it too. I got under the car an it's leak ontop of the trans and coming down the drivers side of it an leaking off the bottom. Anybody have any idea where this could be coming from? Because the rear main seal is brand new along with the valve cover gaskets and intake gaskets and we put black rtv on the front am rear on the intake. Is it possible that its coming from the intake again? Thanks

Just because the intake is freshly sealed doesn't necessarily mean it was done right and could have developed a leak. The valve cover gasket could be leaking. Easy enough to pull it off and look to see if there is oil getting past it.

Best advice I can give is make it easy, clean everything real good and add some engine oil dye, run the car for a bit and then check it out with a black light. You'll find the leak.

Use an inspection mirror or poke a small camera back there and take some pics. Could be the intake or maybe the oil pressure sensor. The sensor would leak a lot of oil in a short time.

Start feeling at the back of the engine from the top down. Start around the valve covers then the back of the intake and the oil pressure sensor as shoebox stated. You can tell if the RMS is leaking by looking up into where the RMS housing is and see if it is wet. Your flywheel or flexplate may be covered in oil as well.

Ok and I felt around and right at the back on the intake I can feel oil and see it with a mirror, and you really the think RMS is leaking again when its almost brand new haha?

Probably not. You can at least jack the car up and take a look. I would first take the oil sensor pieces off and reapply thread sealant. Either clean the engine well after doing any fixes to avoid residuals from dropping onto the ground which may trick you into thinking the leak is still there.

Ok jacked the car up to see if it was RMS and I'm pretty sure it's not an I applied new thread sealant and cleaned everythingg up and took it out and drive it but still a puddle :/ so I'm guessing it's going to be the intake but I'm going to put dye on it to make sure

I had an issue with my low oil sensor. I pulled it out and put a brass plug in it ( I think it was a 7/8). Shorted the two wires together and the light has never come on. I have to ask the obvious is the oil filter on tight?
