Default Summit brand longtube's, Good deal

well guys, i just got my new headers, i paid 264 and some change for them, and when the box came its said "pacesetter" pulled them out, they are pacesetter's, even had there instructions. so anyone looking to new longtube's, and want to save 40 bucks or so, just buy the summit brand

They're not sold as pacesetter brand? are they just the painted long tubes?

no when you go on to summit, they are listed as "Summit Racing headers" for 269.99 for egr version so to speak, and the pacesetter's are 311.99 for the same version. When i got them they were in a pacesetter box, pacesetter literature totally identical to the old pacesetters that were on my car. Yes they are the painted headers, yet for 260 bucks they are a heck of a good deal for new headers.

Quite the marketing scheme. I wish they would bring back OBX headers though

https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-modifications/1515229-obx-headers-just-recieved.html

Essentially they were really good knock offs of Kooks stainless 1 3/4" stepped to 1 7/8" Longtubes with 3.5" collectors and a merge spike. Almost identical, but sold out for the better part of a year now

Imo the tsp 1 7/8th headers are the best bang for the buck for a quality header thats ss,but my pacesetters have worked great, even my buddys painted ones have held up for sometime, cant comment on the summit ones just because ive never seen them or installed them

What ever happened to OBX? Did they go out of business or something?

"We don't sell direct but pls. check back w/ me in 3 weeks for an update.
Thx!

Thanks for the quick response! How do I get on a waiting list for them
somewhere? I don't mind waiting as long as it takes.

"Peter @ OBX"

Cole,

This item has been on B/O with the factory for many months and ETA is
another 30-60 days.

Thanks for your patience.

Is there any news on when or if these headers will be back in stock?
Approximately two months ago I placed an order for 2 sets of these
headers and completed paying for them only to have my money refunded
later. I also called your office to ask around and the individual who
answered the phone stated that you may build another batch of headers
within a month of that time but I haven't heard any news since then. I
know of at least a dozen people who would buy a set of these headers
if they were to turn up on the market and I desperately need 3 sets
myself.

Thanks for any info,

Cole"
Just more demand than supply I guess

cool!! ill let you guys know how they install, yet im sure it will be about the same fit and finish as the pacesetter's. Those OBX headers sound real nice, to bad they are hard to get.
