Default Solid or poly motor mounts?

Looking for feedback from anyone who has run both.
I have a set of both.

Will either increase the amount of knock the PCM detects?
Pros and cons of either?

Time for winter mods.:
Long-tube headers
Solid or poly motor mounts
LT4 knock module
Mcleod dual disk clutch
Line-lock

I didn't notice any difference switching from my rotted and saggy stock mounts to poly.

Go with poly or stock. I ran solid and you will always get knock retard. You can turn down the tables for it in the tune but then if you have true knock ur at risk.

Besides what Dave here mentioned, when you drop the clutch on that stick car (Or even with a hard leaving auto) those solid mounts will jerk the cylinders out of round (especially with the weak thin wall LTx blocks) breaking ring seal. That causes a power loss right there. I have found no upside to solid side mounts. Motor plates in race cars don't have the same effect.

Your results may vary. :-)

For your mods I would just stick with stock until you have head and cam. I have poly mounts my whole dashboard rattles in ways that I've never hear before lol

I've run mine with stock motor mounts and motor plates. It ran just as fast with stock motor mounts. I would save my money there.

I went with poly to keep the headers from banging on the k-member.

OP -

I removed my solid mounts and went with poly units to match my trans mount - much better; firm but not excessive.

Full disclosure: I have no experience with 'good' rubber / stock units, as my bird's stock mounts were sagging when I purchased the car (in 04 at 77k miles)

Poly all around is my vote, but good stock units might be OK too...

Like what speed demon said, my Pacesetters would bang against the k-member when I had stock rubber mounts with only 85k on them. I'd go with polys up front and a rubber trans mount to keep your center console from rattling to pieces.

I have poly and they are great. Still very smooth and I know they are strong.

I just installed some Pacesetters long tubes and when under accelartion, it bangs against something. My car has the stock rubber mounts with only 30K on them but still a 16 year old car. Did the polys up front resolved this issue?

Hookers don't hit. Are Pacesetters cheaper?

Considerably..

I've heard a lot of mixed issues with banging and clearance.. Makes me wonder how much variance there is in shape from one set to the next

Hedman Hustlers don't hit either. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

I did poly mounts when I did my LTs, my stock 160k rubber mounts were shot. You get a little more vibration but nothing to bad, I still DD my car.

My drivers side y pipe did hit the floor a little when I first installed them, massaged the Y pipe and problem solved.

For the $250? I paid for the LTs and Y its hard to argue the price of the pacesetters, best mod I did to my car so far.

Things are usually cheaper for a reason.

By "massaged" the Y pipe you mean you bang the **** out of it until it fit? My Y pipe is hitting my floor still, i bang the floor and now it hits less. So the poly mounts did NOT fix this problem but the "massage" did?

Better headers would have fixed it. No banging, no "massaging".
