Default Octane Booster

I know it's completely worthless but can it actually hurt your car?

O2 sensors?
Fuel filter/pump/injectors?

I would assume it's just like any other "snake oil." Used in small amounts it's harmless but used in excess it can probably cause some problems.

Its a waste to be honest. Just run 93 octane and go crazy. 93 octane is actually healthier for your engine in the long run then 87 or 89. octane booster will only get you .8 of octane boost. Octane booster will do more harm then good.

Yea, the only down side is we only have 91 around here. That's why i tried it in the first place. Didn't really know it was useless till after i used it already. I started having problems with my car shortly after using it so just trying to figure out if it possibly could have hurt anything or if it's just something else.

Bump for this topic please. I only have 91 octane in my area (California), but my car was dyno tuned on 93 in Texas. Suggestions?

Depends on where you live. 93 isn't going to do you a whole lot of good when you're on I-70 in CO going up Loveland Pass.

find a 76 station (or any other that does) that sells 100 and do a "blend". They even have a conversion chart online for desired gal mix/octane level

or get your tune adjusted for 91.....something we in SoCal have to do.

don't waste your $ on octane "booster"

Toluene or Xylene are good octane boosters. I prefer Xylene though...

Best unbiased review I've seen on different octane boosters. Scroll down the page after you go to the link, and make your own conclusion.

Found this article while doing a search for a water pump and stumbled on this article that helped an LT1 with bolt ons. Its test number 8
