Default Valve spring change, now idles different

As stated I changed the springs and now I have a slightly rougher idle (sounds like its a bigger cam) and in 4th gear anything under about 1700rpm ~40 mph it lugs the engine pretty hard which I didn't have problems with before. Wonder if the rockers are set to tight?

Yep, they're probably too tight.
Finding zero lash is where most people err. You might be surprised at how much you can move the rocker around at zero lash. If it's tight and it takes any effort at all to spin the pushrod, you've gone too far.

FYI -
Mine rattled (i.e. - they were too loose) at 3/4 of a turn of preload, but were just right a 1 full turn.
You may have indeed gone too far. (Adjust again.)

Several different procedures to adjust valves here:

I would suggest not using the engine running method since it's quite possible the valves are out of whack.

I have always adjusted them with the engine off and just rotating the motor over by hand until they are all adjusted. I tighten until I feel a very slight drag on the pushrod, then I go 3/8-1/2 turn with roller rockers and 1/2-5/8 turn with standard stamped rockers.
