Headliner help
Hey guys my 93 z28 headliner has started to sag. I want to buy new headliner with foam backing to take the old one out clean the board and replace the liner. What is the size of the board. I am looking at a piece 63in by 60in wide. Should this be big enough? Or should I have them add more?

I know i see them selling the whole thing together. I didn't know if the board was reusable.. That stinks if it isn't. Turns a 30 dollar job into a 230 dollar job. Does anyone know?

^^^ All of that. The board will be extremely dry, brittle and flaky which means the foam may not stick and you'll run into a great looking headliner that sags. Honestly the best thing to do would to be to replace it with an aftermarket one with a plastic backing. I am not completely sure where I got mine, but it has the foam, factory colored lining and plastic backing. A little pricey, but it will never sag again.

I did my headliner last year. As said it is very fragile, but if you take your time, are gentle and careful it should turn out good.
That was the first time I've re-done a headliner and even with a couple small holes in the board from throwing paperclips up there to keep the old one up it turned out really great. I know it will start sagging again sometime in the future, and I probably wont be able to re-use my board a second time around so I'll probably get the board that SSRRR is talking about.

I replaced my OE headliner about 3 years ago. I also went with a new one, rather than attempting to re-use the original backer board. I went with one of the plastic backed units, however I ran into a problem with it, as it's a LOT heavier than the OE piece, and I had trouble trying to get it to stay tight to the inside of the roof.
I tried the 3M, double sided trim tape, but that didn't hold it. I wound up drilling a couple of holes through the headliner, and then inserting a couple of those plastic trim retainers, the ones that look like big round push pins....
