Default scraping noise when driving

It sounds like the muffled sound of metal scraping on the road or against other metal.

only happens when im moving, but sometimes it doesnt happen. loud enough for me to notice but i asked someone riding with me and they couldnt separate the noise from the road noise

nothing dragging lol

exhaust isnt hitting the underside of the car

does it no matter the speed, and while turning

i'd take a video of it but i dont think a camera would pick up the noise, its to subtle and low pitched

would a wheel bear make a noise like that when they go bad?

Based on my wonderful experience on wheel bearings probably not. At least when I have had wheel bearings go bad its typically a droney sound, almost like you are driving the car on a set of super swamper tires. (ya know that great humming sound you can hear a mile down the road?) I've never really heard of it sounding like metal scraping. Does it become more apparent on acceleration or at a consistent speed?

It happens more often when im on the breaks coming to a stoplight or atleast it seems a tad louder, under accel it seems quieter although thats prolly from the engine drowning it out

Have you looked at the brakes? That is the typical sound when brakes are worn down. Usually louder under braking but still apparent when cruising also.

Is yours a stick or auto? If its a stick make sure your parking brake is fully disengaged and check your rear brakes. The parking brake might be dissengaged in the car but I've had it before where it gets slightly stuck on the brake itself and it made the sound your describing. It was only engaged enough to make a grinding sound you are talking about now. I don't use my parking break anymore to avoid said problem because you have to get in there on the brakes and pop them free with a screw driver.

Usually anything scraping or "squealing" especially when the brakes are applied are the tabs on the brake pads themselves scraping across the rotor to let you know they are in need of replacement. You need to check your suspension thoroughly.

Just throwing this out there, but could you have a stuck brake caliper? I've heard of this happening on some of my buddies cars.
