Default threaded port on DS rear block

Hi folks...I am new to chevys. Old Ford guy. My nephew and I are rebuilding a 95 z28. Pretty much done with the short block. I noticed a threaded port on the Drivers side, rear of the block. This port gets half covered by the head gasket and the head. It is on the angled portion of the block. There is another smaller port next to it that is on the flat web where the rear of the intake goes.

Looks to me like it is supposed to get a plug of some kind because the DS head will cover most of it. Cant get a sensor in there after the head is installed. I have looked everywhere to find a diagram of the block that would say what this is. Anyone have any ideas. thanks GA

The hole behind the intake is for the oil pressure sensor.
The one that gets covered by the head gasket is an oil galley passage, and it needs a plug installed.
