Default 93 LT1 Overheating

My buddy's kid has a 93 LT1 that needed a water pump so he replaced the water pump and thermostat and still has over heating problems. He told me he pulled the radiator cap and can see the water flowing. It is overheating in town and on the freeway. Car has around 160,000 miles on it. I don't know if he's had the radiator flushed. Any suggestions?

You've got to make sure you open the bleeder screws with the car running. When I did mine, I let it idle and opened up both screws and as the car warms up it starts spitting coolant out. Make sure there's no air coming out and then close them up and top off the overflow. That should get it right.

^ This.

Keep them open till you hear no more hissing sputtering and its just coolant coming out. Close them up.

the 2nd is on one of the heater core hoses, do that one first and then the other one.
