So I ordered a Sunoco hood for my 93Z. Since I'm cheap and a friend of mine owns a vinyl company, I'm going to wrap the hood, roof and Berger panel. Question is do I go with carbon fiber or flat black?

Chris, how does that vinyl wrap work? Will it be permanent? If not, will it be safe on the paint? Car looks great btw.

The vinyl is removable but the stuff I plan on using is 7 year. That means its supposed to keep the color and adhesive for 7 years. Pretty easy. You can take it off, but it takes some work and if the paint wasn't applied properly it can take the paint with it. I figure by the time it needs to be replaced I'll either have the car painted or take the time to strip the vinyl. The biggest issue is that you can't really match factory colors because they're not Pantone colors. You may get close, but they're not exact. That's why I'm debating over carbon or flat. Thanks Butch

Damn you Rob! And here I thought I had it halfway figured out! The only reason I considered doing the roof as well is it's already black. Since the car is green/grey, I figured putting the carbon on the roof as well would pretty much tie the car together looks wise. Give it more of the two-tone look than just the hood and Berger panel.

You're going to be wrapping your hood, roof and berger panel flat black or carbon fiber? I would keep everything original paint color. Less is more, carbon fiber in my opinion will stand out in a bad way with your current color and what parts of the car you plan on putting it on.

I would do the cowl portion only if you wanted to carry it to other areas. The whole hood different from the rest of the car just looks out of place.

Chris, I just picked up my hood this morning and man, they did a great job on clearancing that frontal/latch area. For now, I will leave it unpainted until I get an idea on what to do with it. Keep us posted on what you decide to do with yours.

I'm gonna get ahold of my buddy and see if we can't get together this weekend and see what the roof and Berger panel will look like in carbon. If that looks ok, then we might just do it, then do the hood when it's finished. Get that hood on an lets see some pics of it Butch!

I'm too cheap to spend the money. Unless I can find a guy that gives me a killer deal its going to be wrapped. Plus it's easier to do a color change down the road.
