got the trans mount fabbed up tonight......the mount was about 2" off so I used a piece of 3" square stock, cut it diagonally and notched and fit it to go under the original bracket, then welded it together....took a piece of .275" steel and made another plate to go on top to keep the mount pad flat....redrilled the hole painted it up and it fits perfect and for about 3 hours of work I saved $300 on a new mount

Im in the same boat man. My car is full weight through 6 speed made 700 to tire on spray.. I dont wanna use a TH400 due to its heaviness. Do you think without a doubt the TH350 can be made stronger than any 4l60e? I know they are cheaper and easier to install.. Do you think a TH350 would be a good idea for me aswell being full weight and all?

Th350 can be made very strong. I love mine. The guy that built mine has mid 8 second cars on the same setup I have in 3000 to 3500 lb cars.

I had the exact same problem with the powerglide in my drag car, it's a Hughes Pro Tree brake and builder missed 1 hole in the gasket. I dropped the pan off the tranny and pulled the valve body off and Viola! I could instantly see where fluid was trying to push through a passage covered by the gasket. I took a razor blade, cut the hole out and it's been running great for 2 seasons now. It's the little things that bite us!

I recognize that crossmember! BMR. Don't drop that damn thing on your foot! LOL You should see the one Dewayne Custer at Eastexas Racecars built for mine when he Back-halved it. Really slick & simple. If the AC is on in the garage when it's out of the car I lay something on it so it won't blow away. :-)

Good luck with it man! I know I was elated to find out that's all it was. I was sure panicked and discouraged when I first fired up the car and had nothing for reverse.

Oh well, it's the charity that matters at that point. But it always feels better to make a good showing!

figured it out last night........took the car down the road had 1st, shifted into 2nd perfect, went into 3rd and it wasn't there......we took it back to the shop put it on the lift and yanked the valve body, air tested the 3 gear apply and it didn't engage, so we are pretty confident its got a damaged lip seal in the direct drum, maybe upon installation it ripped.......regardless I yanked the trans back out last night we are gonna fix it tonight and im going to pop it back in......should be running by the morning

I'm assuming you can hear the solenoid click when you push the button? Plenty loud if the engine is off.
