Default 94 Z28 completely different after exhaust.

So after 3 months of open 3" pipe I decided to add a resonator in my system and now WOT is hell on my car. Ever since the resonator was put in it hesitates in the higher RPM's. It seems to almost hang the shifts up.

After Resonator:

My car never had this problem before and started when the resonator was put in that day.

Kind of hard to tell from vid but it doesnt look like its reving as freely as first vid. I'd start with the basics. Are you getting good fuel and spark? How old are the plugs and wires, fuel filter etc? Any knock retard going on? Id get that oil psi gauge fixed to

Yeah, it litterally feels like its being choked out now, its started the first time I got on it after the exhaust, less then .2 of a mile after the exhaust was done. It looks like a 2.5" pipe shoved and welded into my 3" mid pipe.

The oil gauge pisses me off, works 25% of the time. Wires are MSD 9mm, OPTI is good, Spark plugs are NGK and fairly new. SES light is on for EGR but I have stock manifolds. Only bolt ons I have is the intake and exhaust, Ignition is set to stock, nitrous is not hooked up.

I would have to agree. My lt1 which has just been repaired had this same hesitation at high rpms due to a bad (well going bad) opti and bad wires. The fuel was also pretty bad as it wasn't getting enough. So that is where I would start.

Well, the old pipe is off, new exhaust is on (3.5" mid pipe, Flowmaster Duals) and the car runs perfect, better then it did straight piped. Dont know why, but I did hear something in the exhaust last night so I don't know if there is something in the pipe blocking it or not.
