Good quality street clutch please help!
Wanna add a stronger clutch to my tranny. Been looking around at clutch kits and obviously there are many to choose from. The most affordable seem to be the Ram Powergrips. There are also powergrip hds from Ram as well. I've read mixed reviews about Ram clutches some had bad luck with them. But was on a Mustang forum so I think that answers that question haha. Anyways, Centerforce are a bit pricey for my solid street clutch I'm looking for. I plan on doing some 1/4 mile passes but it will be primarily used for abusive street use lol. Any decently priced clutches yall have had luck with? My car should be throwing down around 360 or so after the top end and cam install I'm planning on. Thanks!

I had the power grip HD and it holds power great. It does chatter here and there and especially in traffic but IMHO it was streetable if you can live with that. As stated above it hated my stock 3.42s loved the 4.10s.
The throw out bearing went out on it so instead of buying a new bearing for 175ish I decided to try the stage 2 competition clutch for about 235. It has the same ceramic pucks on one side like the power grip HD and has a full faced organic on the other. Its much more streetable and a much lighter (stock like) pedal feel. I haven't taken it to the track but its been holding up very well on the streets. Traffic stop n go and some spirited driving.
I was debating between the stage 2 & 2.5 but desided on the stage 2 just cause of some of the reviews i read about the kevlar side not liking to be slipped and therefore slipping after untill it cools back off.

Hate to sound like a "pure-stock" GM fanboy (as most of my car has been modded), but a LUK LT4 clutch (from a 1996 LT4 Corvette) is very good and quite reasonably priced.
My $0.02...
My $0.02...

If you intend to drag the car with a tire...I would get at least the competition 2.5 or similar "dual" friction surface disc clutch

I am a big fan of SPEC clutches. They had a bad name back in the day, but they have greatly improved over the last 5 years, and I believe they are the very best clutch for the money. They drive wonderfully, and my SPEC stage 3+ handles more power than I am putting down in my 383 blower LT1. Does great on the street and the track, and holds up great.

Have to jump in here...just remember 99% of the pressure plates that claim to be stronger are just lt4 pressure plates painted..I went ahead and got the clutch from clutchnet.com and talked to the owner he went ahead and made me a custom clutch disk desighn that was patent with a copper wire and organic combination and he states his pressure plates are the lt4 pressure plates but he states that he has stage 3 that grabs 70% harder than stock. This guy is definatley german and if you know anything about the german world they can build cars..havnt installed it yet ill take a pic up and post it but i will be making a thread on its results. claims to hold over 500 tourque
