Im gonna check out a 93 trans am lt1, has 160000 miles, m6, ad says needs exhaust and interior work, besides typical things to look for on a used car is there anything model specific to look for, i have neverhad a lt1.
Also the ad says it runs fine and is inspected

Bring it to redline and feel/listen for studdering or missing, take a real good look at the rubber suspension bushings and ball joints and tie rod ends, watch for smoke out the exhaust on cold startup, listen for ticks and knocks from the engine, put it in a high gear at low rpm and gas it to see if the clutch slips, biggest thing is making sure it goes smoothly through the entire rpm range as the opti, coil and icm are the biggest issues.

That much mileage and work needed, better be cheap is all I can say. Same stuff you look for on any other motor. I will tell you now there will be a lot of parts that need to be replaced, its going to be a project.
