Default new cam time...

Alright so i finally just said screw it cause I couldnt figure out what was causing my problem and I just want a bigger cam. I'm going to get a new AI cam. I emailed them and they recommended the 228/234 and I think I will stick to that.

I'm going to order the cam with the Ai Complete HR Cam Kit:

Ai Billet Steel LTx Camshaft
Performance Springs Inc. MaxLife Beehive Springs
CompCams Beehive Spring Steel Retainers
Machined & Hardened Steel Locks / Keepers
CompCams Hardened Steel Spring Locators
OEM Quality Steel Jacketed Viton Seals
K-Line Valve Seal Installation Driver
ARP 7/16" Pro Series Rocker Studs
CompCams 7702 Pushrod Length Checking Tool
CompCams 1605 Ultra Pro-Mag Rocker Arms - 1.6 Ratio
Ai Hardened & Black Oxided Steel Guide Plates
Ai 4130 One Piece Chrome Moly Hardened Pushrods 5/16" x 7.XX" .080" Wall
Fel-Pro Gasket Kit - Timing Cover gasket, Water Pump gaskets, and Crank/Opti/Pump drive seals
Fel-Pro 1284 Intake Manifold Gaskets w/RTV

Now I know this is a pretty comprehensive kit so with that said, will I need anything else?

Will my LS7 lifters handle the 228/234 without any issues? They have about 22k miles on them

I'm planning to pull the heads and have them checked out, resurfaced, and get a thinner head gasket to bump the compression. Should I just get the 96' Impala SS gasket?

What should I do about head bolts? can I reuse the ones I have (new OEM LT1 bolts were used on the rebuild) or should I get new arp bolts?

I'm also looking for a good OTVC wire set, any recommendations?

Part numbers for these parts would be appreciated. Thank you

Impala SS (B-body) head gaskets have a compressed thickness of .029".....they are 'good-to-go'!

ARP head bolts? You betcha !

Don't forget to have your PCM recalibrated.....

You might want to think about getting a new GM melonized oil pump drive gear when you do the cam.
