Is this a fairy tale book? They might have built a one-off show car, but nothing for general production.

LOL....I remember reading about that in an OLD Motortrend back in the early to mid 90's, it was indeed a one off "concept" car, it's probably been crushed or sitting in some abandoned GM warehouse or museum somewhere It was a VERY nasty Camaro; can't believe they squeezed that behemoth in there

A bit more info, Jon Moss is behind this creation ...Here's an article pitting it against the "BOSS" Mustang with 850 HP....LMAO Stang get's the smackdown

http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...ved-comparison

That thing sold for $160K at Barret Jackson back in 2009; probably the most expensive 93-97 4th gen ever!

I think the ZL1 from the article isn't the same one that sold at Barrett-Jackson. Though they are both phenomenal cars...

No, read the article, Jon Moss built it when he was manager of "Chevrolet Special Vehicles" department, It has an aftermarket Donavan block, Brodix heads, among other things; I seriously doubt there's a single GM part in that engine, all aftermarket or custom.

I saw the ZL1 at the hot rod power festival in Norwalk Ohio one year. It looked awesome.
